We ran under tables, played games with sweets, enjoyed a special meal, played skipping games outside and sang songs. World War II day was a success; the children embraced it all, arriving in vintage wear that actually isn't so vintage and home made gas masks round their necks. To see them give the day a thumbs up makes all the planning and preparation so worthwhile.
