And the people came together as one.............

As a lover of all types of music I was thrilled to tune into the Jubilee concert at Buckingham Palace; a platform full of such diverse acts.  Now I think act of the evening has to go Grace Jones who at the age of 64 showed the youngsters a thing or two.  Her vocals still packed a punch and the outfit would raise an eyebrow or two.  As for the hoola hooping, something extra to just hold the attention of the audience that bit longer!  It was quite a performance.

We humans are a unique and diverse race and the music and artists tonight confirmed that.  Legends like Stevie Wonder; Shirley Bassey, to not so well known artists like Ruby Turner (I attended a small but intimate concert she gave years ago and her voice sounded even better tonight).  The royal family, young and old seemed to be 'down' with it all too!  The Queen herself has some stamina, to embrace the week-end's festivities.

It is good when people of all nations, faiths, standing in life and any other criteria that would normally divide them, come together for one common purpose, today it was to celebrate 60 years of steadfast monarchical leadership.

Thank you Lord for such days like today (day 161) when coming together as one was the natural thing to do...............
