It's a beautiful day............ don't let it get away!

As we pottered around in our front garden I heard this line 'It's a beautiful day' from the song by U2 and as usual, being a ponderer decided to ponder on it. Each day certainly does come with its own beauty, not necessarily physical beauty that you can see (although this is part of it), but rather beauty gratitudes - the beauty of being grateful for all that our Father is to us; all that we are because of Him; the provisions we have because of Him (material, spiritual............) and most importantly the beauty of having an unfailing love that will last a lifetime and beyond, His love. It is there for free, we only have to ask. It is a love that we should not let slip away, instead grab hold of and let reside in our hearts.

It certainly is a beautiful day; Sean Connery made a stop at our house disguised of course as James in Thunderball.  Interestingly, Ayo and I had just popped out to the shops and on our return I put the box on and there it was, just about to start. Yes I do have the dvd, but it's not quite the same without the never ending commercial breaks! A relaxed late afternoon it was then, feet on a pouffe and a glass of something in hand to complete the scene.  Gracie & Aaron spent the afternoon in the company of another James (one of Aaron's best buddies) and my hubby went off excitedly to get down with a good old fashioned fellowship of the male kind, catching up with old friends.  As for my boy Sam, well it is football season, say no more..............................

Some things for you to ponder on about seizing the day.............

Life is short, God's way of encouraging a bit of focus. ~Robert Brault

Spend the afternoon. You can't take it with you. ~Annie Dillard

Be happy while you're living, for you're a long time dead. ~Scottish Proverb

You live longer once you realise that any time spent being unhappy is wasted. ~Ruth E. Renkl

I am today (day 173) thankful for a beautiful Saturday and hope yours was too!
