A masterpiece and God called it........Dad

Today (day 174) I give thanks for my children who were so excited today, to wake up early to make their Dad one of his favourite breakfast, full on English.  They had discussed and meticulously planned the division of labour this morning and with Gracie on hand to organise them they pulled off a special morning breakfast fellowship.  All three sat proudly at the table quite in awe and humbled by this man they call 'Dad.'  Even though, as a nation, we set aside this special day in celebration of fathers, Sam, Aaron and Gracie are demonstrative of their love for him every day in so many ways.

We made our way to church for the family service, sang from our hearts to our Father in heaven and honoured our earthly fathers with votes of thanks and prayers of thanksgiving.  It was a most special moment, part of a beautiful day...............  We were blessed with a video clip that reflected on what a dad is:

What Makes A Dad

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
he wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,

He called it ... Dad

I have printed this to add to my collection of favourites!

We indulged in a relaxing afternoon and sat reminiscing way after our lovely dinner was over, just the way I like it.  Such indulgence continued into the evening as we all assisted in the continued transformation of our garden and Gracie and Aaron disappeared intermittently to make good use of the trampoline................  a beautiful day.
