Celebrating good times.............

Celebrations are a wonderful thing whatever the occasion and what an auspicious one we enjoyed today...................  Very good friends ours were celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary and so we headed up North laugh, sing, dance (a little) and just bless them with prayers for another 25 years.  We were also thrilled to meet up with some other pals we hadn't seen for a while............... history is a wonderful treasure to hold on to, it is the glue that connects our past, present and future.  It is the thing that gives instant conversation pieces, that makes you smile, laugh and cry,  the map of your life so far and all it has been (including the not so good bits).  It is the genuine love connection amongst friends and there was plenty of that today.   I am so thankful today (day 243) for the history that made today possible.

Now today was a quadruple celebration.  Alongside the silver wedding anniversary we were celebrating a 21st and 18th birthday and a graduation.  God is good and His grace certainly sufficient................ People were there to honour the Man responsible for this blessed union and rejoice with all the celebrants.

There were no heavy sermons about marriage, each is unique to each couple, instead, votes of thanks and words of encouragement.
On that note I thought I would finish my post today with some light quotes I came across, some made myself and Ayo chuckle.

I love being married. It's so great to find one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life. - Rita Rudner

For two people in a marriage to live together day
after day is unquestionably the one miracle the Vatican has overlooked. ~Bill Cosby, Love and Marriage

A good marriage would be between a blind wife and a deaf husband. Michel de Montaigne

A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person. Mignon McLaughlin

It is sometimes essential for a husband and a wife to quarrel - they get to know each other better. Goethe

My wife and I have the secret to making a marriage last. Two times a week, we go to a nice restaurant, a little wine, good food..... She goes Tuesdays, I go Fridays. - Henry Youngman

Before marriage, a man will lie awake all night thinking about something you said; after marriage, he'll fall asleep before you finish saying it.- Unknown

We have the greatest pre-nuptial agreement in the world. It's called love.- Gene Perret

This is my favourite;
You come to love not by finding the perfect person, but by seeing an imperfect person perfectly. -Sam Keen
