Walk and talk.........the order of the day

A lengthy walk was the order of the day! We zig zagged in and out of the sun under shadier cover as we strolled; Gracie looking very much the part in her fuchsia top and complementary blue skorts and a rather fetching, flouncy hat that did the job of protecting her neck and face from the hot son. She looked like she had stepped out of the latest catwalk showcasing summer fashions. It was a lovely walk as we savoured the lovely French countryside and admired the varied styles of maison and exchanged greetings with passing locals. We diverted to pick up some groceries for our bbq, but not too much (we remembered we would be carrying it back!)

As Sam commented the long walk provided us with an opportunity to banter, about so many different things; not that we can't when we are in the car, but it releases my hubby from the sometimes mentally taxing concentration needed when driving in unfamiliar territory, not to mention the exercise factor involved. Mind you I think the jam doughnuts might have cancelled that!

Later on we put to good use our groceries; thank you to Sam and Ayo for a scrumptious alfresco meal. I am thankful today (day 221) for our most lovely walk with it's endless conversations and laughter.
